Cold hopping unit CHU
Cold hopping unit is a device used for extraction of aromatic active substances from hops into the cold beer (dry hopping) – by infusion of hops extract into the final cold beer after the fermentation process. This unit is primarely used when the strong bitter kinds of beer like IPA, APA, DIPA etc. are brewed.
The cold hopping unit is a cylindrical vessel with three wheels with lock. The CHU dissolves the granulated or dried hops in the finished beer. The CHU does not increased the bitterness of the beer and at the same time it promotes the hops flavor. Effective leaching, uniform and definable aromatization, reduces hop consumption. The device is very easy to use and can be easily integrated into an existing lager department.
The unit, together with the diaphragm or peristaltic pump, connects with the beer tank (viz. scheme). The diaphragm or peristaltic pump is not included in the CHU unit and it is necessary to order it separately.
