During the brewing process, it is necessary to treat the incoming water in several places. If there is a steam generator, it is necessary to produce the steam only from an extra-softened water, as hard water significantly reduces the lifetime of steam generators and their heaters.
Another example is the water, from which the beer is brewed. In some cases, this water has to go even through several treatments. Water treatment can remove iron, manganese, chlorine, or soften hard water.
